In 1728, Jean de Bouglon, the king’s prosecutor and Eauze’s governor, married the daughter of a bourgeois from the village of  Labastide. Their son converted Prada’s lands into a feudal estate and, in 1764, built a castle on it, designed by the architect Victor Louis. In the 19th century, Barbey d’Aurevilly stayed here. The main part of the structure consists of a two-story building with 9 stone-framed windows on each floor. Ancillary buildings are located on each side of the courtyard.

Eight generations of the same family have lived and been raised in the castle, which today sits on a well-respected vineyard. Five years ago, Philippe and Beatrice de Bouglon decided to open the castle’s doors to the public, at the same time preserving its beautiful heritage for future generations and allowing you to  share in it.
